Artist Statement

I began my journey in clay over 30 years ago after a 15-year professional career in stained glass.  Not surprisingly, my first ceramic pieces were slab-built, linear forms. Through the years, my work has become much more organic and free-form.  I am an unabashed collector of twigs, leaves, pods, rusty metal, etc., and rarely return from a walk or hike without a found "treasure," sparking my imagination and inspiring future work.  I describe my aesthetic as modern, organic, feminine, industrial; a combination that I find interesting and exciting! I very much enjoy being part of an active art community, making new friends and collaborating with fellow artists here in the Pacific Northwest.
